A home business opportunity, no matter how good, is only a vehicle to get you from point A to Point B (from rags to riches). You still have to learn how to drive your new moneymaking vehicle to make it take off.

When it comes to driving a success vehicle most people get in and either run out of gas, drive it into a wall or simply let it sit in the driveway. Below are 10 of the most common mistakes and how to avoid them…

1. Not Having Any Goals – just think, if you went on a journey with no idea where you were heading. It would be a “whatever comes our way” type of trip. Although it may sound fun for some, any successful business must have specific goals that they want to reach.

2. Poor Time Management – not setting aside important time to work on the most important parts of your business. Even being busy and not necessarily productive.

Everyday before starting to work your business, sit down and write out everything that needs to be accomplished. Now ask yourself “if I only accomplished one thing today on my list, which one thing would it be that will make me feel totally satisfied with my progress for the day”.

3. Lack of Commitment – you must be committed to mastering your trade. Strive to become an expert at whatever you are doing. It only takes just a tiny bit more effort than most other people are willing to put forth for your work to be better.

4. Not Being Plugged In – you need to rejuvenate your mind and your goals daily. Top marketers know this best. They spend thousands of dollars a month on courses and reading books seeking to constantly increase their learning and their profits. This is why they make a lot of money.

5. Weak Advertising – an amazing thing happens when you don’t advertise – “NOTHING”! There are just as many free ways to advertise your business as there are paid ones. So if you want to succeed in whatever business, you must advertise constantly and consistently.

6. Not Reinvesting Profits – don’t be afraid to buy tools or whatever your business needs. Things like more knowledge, more advertising, more tools, etc. Reinvest your money wisely.

7. Going It Alone – getting helps from others is important. Mastermind groups are an important part of success. Two or more minds coming together equals a “third and powerful mind”. Every great achiever has belonged to a mastermind group of like-minded people.

8. Not Visualizing Your Success – always see things as you WANT them to be – NOT as they presently are. Don’t let negativity creep into your thoughts and tell you fifty-one reasons why you cannot succeed today. Chase those deadly vamps out of your mind with visions and affirmations of success.

9. Trying To Get Rich Quick – if you are out for quick riches you will most likely disappoint yourself. Instead focus on enhancing others lives through your own efforts and services and the money will be there.

10. Not Enjoying Your Trade – if you enjoy what you do you will never work a day in your life. Love what you do or find another vehicle for success.
